About Us

Glendale First is a United Methodist Church located in the heart of Glendale, California.

We celebrates the legacy our elders of faith have established for us and our generation. We honor the sacrifice they have provided for the life of the church. And we carry the privilege as well as the responsibility of partnering with God in His work in the city of Glendale, and beyond, through our church.

Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Angela Galanis Price and Associate Pastor Rev. Stephanie Rice serve Glendale First as clergy. They lead our church in this time of growth.

History Of Glendale First

1903: The Pasadena District Reverend Superintendent and 34 other people met with Pastor Charles Russell Norton in a room on the 2nd floor of a Glendale Avenue building, and created Glendale Methodist Episcopal Church.

1917: After less than a year of construction., the church dedicated the new church building on Wilson and Kenwood. In the following years, major renovations occurred, creating the beauty that we know as the sanctuary today. In addition to aesthetic modifications and changing leadership came a new name: Glendale First United Methodist Church.

Glendale First is a part of the California-Pacific Conference of Methodist churches, and as part of such believes that everyone is welcome in the house of God, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, etc. Click the button below for more information about California-Pacific LGBTQ+ Task force.
