We have been receiveing phone calls from Glendale merchants who Support the Sales Tax. They have been asking about signs to put in their stores. These signs are to urge residents to Vote No On Prop 457.
Without the revenue generated by the sales tax, Glendale is faced with making 25 million in cuts. Even with the cuts announced at the workshop on 9/25 are still about 4 million light. As it stands the cuts include 106 Public Safety employees. Elimination of the all Special events, including Glendale’s signature festivals, closure of the two branch libraries, the remaining library would be managed by a for profit company and would most likely eliminate the current skilled library porfessionals and replace them with customer service personel. Also on the table is the elimination of all afterschool programs, and with that the closure of the Rose Lane pool. This is just the beginning.
We have created some window size flyers and they cost about $1 piece. The large street signs (4×4) cost $45 a piece plus labor to install them.
Not many of us have free access to $55 thousand dollars as a local auto retailer & wholesale auto parts supplier do. I have to admit I am feeling a little like David and Im standing here using social media as my sling shot. Please help pay for the stones I need to take out this giant.
